World War II

Songtext zum Thema Krieg/Krieger

von  ian_grey

Before actually posting this lyric, I should try to explain my motives writing this song:
First off, the first scrape was written short after the offense against the Iraq in the name of counter-terrorism was announced.
Second, I am German myself, and I'm neither proud of being so - nor ignorant about that Germany didn't actually support the Iraq war, but instead denied any help during the war.
Third, I felt just like writing a song "out of the battlefield" as a response to games like Battlefield, Call of Duty and other realistic war simulations. Is it really neccessary to produce GAMES about the most horrible things mankind ever "accomplished"?

Also, I do know that Germans weren't the only one to commit war crimes, I could have used any other country cupping in. Why I used Germany has two causes:
First, as I previously said, I am of German heritage, and I think I can show how proud I actually am of this country.
Second, it is - especially when seen with recent history (Iraq!) - to point out that history will repeat itself another many more times...

Sitting in my boat
looking for a chance
trying to get out
the Germans fight civilists

WAR - DESTRUCTION - HATE - GUNFIRE - THUNDER

Lying down below
Shooting my way out
Living during war
the Germans killed my friends

WAR - DESTRUCTION - HATE - GUNFIRE - THUNDER

Hiding in a box
waiting for the howl
loading through my gun
the Germans fucked us up

WAR - DESTRUCTION - HATE - GUNFIRE - THUNDER

Lacking confidence
wishing for an end
hatred can be found
the Germans have to die

WAR - DESTRUCTION - HATE - GUNFIRE - THUNDER

Sitting on the steer
firing at the tanks
try not to be hit
the Germans lost their war

PEACE - SOLUTION - LOVE - FIREWORKS - SILENCE
